Contains many fold-out maps and b&w illustrations. 215x170mm. [XII] + 1068 pages [+92 unpaginated pages]. Yellow leather Hardcover. Cover rubbed and stained/dirty. Cover edges rubbed and stained. Cover corners slightly bent. Front cover upper corner peeling. Spine rubbed, stained/dirty and wrinkled. Spine bottom part missing. Spine upper edge tattered and partly missing. Small worm-mark on front endpaper. Front endpaper wrinkled, age-stained and slightly stained. Front endpaper upper corner slightly torn. Binding loose and visible between front whitepage/title-page and page I, rear whitepage and last index page. Pen/ink inscription on front whitepage both sides. Stamp on title-page bottom edge. Fold-out map between pages 422-423 slightly torn near binding. Page 423/424 edge slightly tattered - NO damage to text. Some maps slightly wrinkled. Some pages slightly age-stained. Pages yellowing and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of a significant and long-lasting contribution to historical-geographical research of early Palestine is in good condition for its age.
