RARE book about the Jewish community of Chmielnik, a town in Kielce County, in the historic region of Lesser Poland, from 16th-century to the extinction of the Extermination. The book also contains the memories of the oldest citizens of Chmielnik about their Jewish neighbors and an account of the endeavors of the local authorities and Chmielnik`s citizens, undertaken to bring back the memories of the extinct Jewish community of their town. The book includes numerous archival photographs from "Pinkas Chmielnik" (Tel Aviv, 1961), from a private collection of Majer Maly, as well as photographs belonging to the Town and Municipality Office in Chmielnik. 235x160mm. 262 pages & 16 full-page color plates.
