Description
RARE BOOK - COPY No.16 FROM LIMITED EDITION OF ONLY 50 COPIES. SIGNED BY EDITOR with dedication written in Judeo-Arabic to Joshua Blau, professor emeritus of Arabic Languages and Literature at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the former President of the Academy of the Hebrew Language. This book is a commentary on Pirke De-Rabbi Eliezer by Judah ben Nissim ibn Malka, a 13th century philosopher, kabbalist, and astrologer who lived in Spain (or Morocco). While little is known of his biography (except that his father, Nissim, was supposed to have been a great kabbalist in Fez), he is remembered as one of the few authors to have written on Kabbalistic subjects in Arabic. This edition includes the translation of this treatise to 245x175mm. 59 pages. Hardcover with gilt lettering. Spine edges slightly worn. Editor/publisher dedication on front inner cover. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in very good condition.
