This rare book is comprised of the critical edition and definitive translation of the chronicles written by `Abd al-Rahman al-Jabarti (1754-1825/6), author of `History of Egypt`, famous for its eyewitness account of Napoleon`s invasion and Muhammad Ali`s seizure of power. 240x160mm. [131]+[116] pages. Hardcover. Gilt lettering on front and rear cover (in English and Arabic) and on spine (in English). Rear cover slightly stained. Cover corners bumped and rubbed. Cover edges slightly bumped. Spine bottom edge bumped, upper edge slightly bumped. Spine slightly yellowing. Author`s dedication written with pen on pre-title page upper corner. Some pages upper corner slightly wavy. Pages slightly yellowing.
