RARE out of print collection of Greek texts by Theophrastus, Philo, Pseudo-Archytas, Plotinus, Iamblichus, Syrianus, Proclus, Damascius, Philoponus and Simplicius on the concept of `topos` (translated as either `place` or `space`) in late Neoplatonism, with English translation and introduction by Samuel Sambursky (1900-1990), an eminent Israeli physicist and influential historian of science. Smabursky is particularly known for his publications on Greek and Stoic science and philosophy, and was lecturer (from 1929) and dean of the faculty of science (from 1957) in The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 245x155mm. 181 pages.
